Thomas Heatheral Young
Thomas
Heatheral Young was born 10 Sept 1897 in Urey, PA. He
served in both World War I and World War II. During World War I,
he was in the Army, part of the Co. 17, 5th Training Battalion, 153rd
Depot Brigade, part of the 78th.
During World War II, Thomas went into the Merchant Marine at the age
of 46. He served on three Liberty ships as messman and utility.
He owned a farm across from the Carmel Freeman Cemetery and lived in
Meadville from 1940s to the 1960s.
Thomas Heatheral Young was the husband of Mary A. Pyle Young; father
of Thomas H., Buelah M., Richard L., Shirley Rae; and grandfather of
Richard L., James D., Alicyn M., Robert D.
Thomas Heatheral Young died 19 Jan 1968 in Spencer Hospital in
Meadville. He is buried across from the farm in Carmel
Freeman Cemetery in Cussewago Township, Crawford County, PA.
